“Spiritual Warfare & the Spiritual Life“
St. Paul states: "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:11-12).
We often fall into the two extremes in living our Catholic Faith. We either focus too much on the battle or ignore it altogether. The spiritual life is a battle that we must be aware of and enter while always keeping our eyes on the journey's end, Heaven. We must know the wiles of the devil. But more importantly, we must keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus. Join me as the great Saints teach us about the spiritual battle and how to use God's armor effectively to advance in the spiritual life.
