“Jenny” came to Waterleaf with her young son and boyfriend for a pregnancy test. This was her second pregnancy, and due to the fact she had taken the morning after pill with the pregnancy, she was considered abortion-vulnerable. She requested an ultrasound, and she and her boyfriend seemed interested and excited about the fetal images. Her client advocate discussed prenatal development and reviewed the fetal models and growth and development of the baby. She stated she wasn’t aware “so much was going on” that early. We discussed apps for her phone she could download to track the development of her baby. Jenny was put on our 72-hour follow-up due to her classification of vulnerable, but was unresponsive and remained that way throughout the pregnancy, which concerned us. We were elated to find a video of the baby on the client’s Facebook page shortly after her due date, reminding us once again, that although a client doesn’t always respond to outreach, all is not lost!
