This week, we mailed out the remainder of the pledge packets to parishioners in order to provide everyone an opportunity to be a part of this important parish initiative to further God’s Kingdom.
As you prayerfully consider your gift to the campaign, Give Back to the Lord in Thanksgiving, please keep in mind that the vision of our parish is to prepare for spiritual growth today and for future generations.
How much am I expected to give? As stewards of God’s gifts, you should recognize that giving is an essential part of a Christian lifestyle. All parishioners are being asked to consider a specific gift amount. However, you alone can determine the amount of your gift. Consult the various gift plans. Please remember we need the participation of all parishioners and, if your gift is one of sacrifice, it is truly a generous gift regardless of size.
I dislike pledging. Why am I asked to make a pledge instead of a one-time gift? The success of the campaign rests largely on pledges that are payable over three years. In addition, by making a pledge, you are able to donate more than would be otherwise possible in a one-time gift.
Will I need to maintain my weekly contributions to the parish and my pledge to DSA? Yes, these revenues are necessary for the daily operating expenses of our parish and our diocese. As caretakers of God’s gifts, we are entrusted to receive, cultivate, share and return His gifts for our own salvation and in service of others. It is a challenge to model a life of a Christian steward here and now and yet, an even greater responsibility to have a vision that plans for the use of God’s resources.
Give Back to the Lord in Thanksgiving campaign embodies this vision for the future of our parish.
