Praise the Lord! We have overwhelmingly surpassed the March goal amount of $50,000 and are thankful to all who made their donation to the campaign to help us meet this matching grant. There were 88 parishioners who made a donation in March totaling $169,926! Thank you to the very generous anonymous donor for providing this matching grant to help us progress towards the overall goal of $4.9 million. We are currently at 64% of this goal.
As you heard during today’s announcements, next weekend has been designated as Commitment Weekend. Families who were not contacted by phone or by a home visitor and parishioners who wish to increase their original pledge or change their onetime gift to a pledge will be given an opportunity to do so after the homily next weekend.
Every effort has been made to contact all parishioners by phone, letter or personally. However, due to the size of the parish, availability of home visitors, campaign timetable, demanding schedules of parishioners and parishioners’ requests to be contacted at a later date, we still have many families who haven’t reached a decision regarding their participation in
Give Back to the Lord in Thanksgiving. If you have not made your sacrificial pledge, please pray over your decision this week and be prepared to make your pledge next week at Masses.
Growing and maintaining our parish facilities is important because we are caretakers of God’s gifts. In this role, we are entrusted to sustain what others have provided for us. In addition, well-maintained facilities provide an atmosphere that opens people’s hearts to the Gospel and makes available places where we share our talents and serve each other.
The
Give Back to the Lord in Thanksgiving campaign will address several needs of Holy Cross Parish. First, we will build a permanent and perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel named after the great Pope St. John Paul II. It will be a warm and inviting place for all to worship our Eucharistic Lord (24/7/365 days a year). Second, the interior of our church needs some renovating to provide a welcoming and safe environment for worshiping Almighty God. We have the duty, honor, and responsibility to maintain our spiritual home just like our family homes. Third, we need to expand and renovate our campus in order to provide a more secure environment for the children of our parish. This will add needed space for all ministries to meet, grow and expand in order to serve the community of Holy Cross. These various campus additions and improvements will further serve the faith-filled folks that call Holy Cross home. An overview of project costs for the three phases listed in order by priority is located on the parish website and can be found in the campaign brochure.
