Pipe Organ Concert at Marmion Abbey

On Friday, July 28 at 7:30 pm, the 24th Annual “Bach and Beyond at the Marmion Abbey” concert will take place.   Admission is free. The location is in the Abbey Church, 850 Butterfield Road.  This annual program—always on the last Friday in July—is sponsored by the Fox Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.  This year’s program will feature nine local organists, playing one of the area’s finest pipe organs.  The Abbey’s Martin Ott pipe organ, having 1226 individual pipes, will be featured in several major organ works by J. S. Bach—as has been our tradition.  But also featured will be works by Nicolaus Bruhns (a contemporary of Bach), and Felix Mendelssohn, and Gabriel Dupont.
