Waterleaf, a women's crisis pregnancy center in Aurora, Illinois shared their July 2021 Miracle of the Month . . .

“I was being pressured to have an abortion, but now with the heartbeat…”

Leaving the abortion clinic, “Debbie” encountered a sidewalk counselor who encouraged her to come to Waterleaf before returning to the abortion clinic in two days for her scheduled abortion.  Upon arriving at Waterleaf, “Debbie” was scared and nervous.  She was unsure of what to do and was being pressured by the father to have an abortion.  Before her ultrasound, she prayed with her Advocate for guidance and courage. After that first ultrasound, she said “I kind of want to keep it.”  During her repeat appointment, she told her Advocate she decided to parent and had the support of her family and friends.  She told the nurse “I was being pressured to have an abortion, but now with the heartbeat, I’m getting excited.”  During her final appointment, “Debbie” was amazed at how much her baby had grown and was excited by her baby’s strong heartbeat.  God surely put many dedicated, compassionate professionals in “Debbie’s” path to give her the confidence and courage to stand up for her baby and make a life-affirming decision.
