Why a three-year pledge? Any commitment is easier to make if we know we can do it over time. We buy homes and cars and make many other commitments this way. By making a pledge over three years, individuals are able to contribute at a greater level than would be otherwise possible with a one-time gift. If you have already donated a one-time gift, thank you, but please prayerfully consider repeating that donation for the next two years.
Why start a campaign when we have so much debt to pay off? When we started the campaign, the debt was approximately $675,000; however, we are now able to share that we had an anonymous donor who will be paying off this debt from an estate. If you noticed in last week’s bulletin, we are now at $365,000 in debt. This amount will be paid off by the summer of this year from this most generous donor.
Why the need for the expansion of the school? Currently the school utilizes many areas of Donovan Hall on a daily basis which limits meeting space for many of our other ministries. It was always the intention to add on a music room, art room, and cafeteria along with other meeting space in the CECC building. This will also provide additional safety for our students in school and in the RE program.
This campaign is another step in our stewardship journey to grow as a community of believers who share their time, talent and treasure. While the financial goals of Give Back to the Lord in Thanksgiving are challenging, they are attainable. With God’s help and with everyone’s participation in this endeavor, we can successfully reach our goal. We will begin another phase in the campaign (450+ families in this phase) and we can always use more volunteers. If you are able to volunteer your time to be a campaign visitor, please come to one of our volunteer meetings on Monday nights at 6:30 PM in Rooms 203/204. Training will be provided.
