************************** There has been a change in plans for Holy Cross’s weekend (April 4th and 5th) collection for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry. Please see below for new drop off location and times. **************************
In these difficult times, when the shelves of the grocery store are often bare of the items we seek, and we are asked to stay at home as much as possible, it would be very easy to overlook providing for the Food Pantry. Unfortunately, hunger does not take a day off, just the opposite, as many more families are without gainful employment and are finding their budgets stretched and their own shelves bare, the need for the Food Pantry is greater than ever.
Please help keep the Food Pantry shelves stocked to minster to all the families in the Batavia area that must rely on the Food Pantry for support. The Food Pantry is their grocery store. Please be generous.
There are multiple ways you can support the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry this weekend.
If you wish to contribute groceries, volunteers will be present at The Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry (100 Flinn Street – Batavia) for curbside drop off of donations. Please only drop off groceries this weekend at the times listed below - do not leave groceries outside of the Food Pantry building – the weather forecast for this weekend is calling for rain throughout the weekend.
Saturday, April 4th from 8:00 am to 9:00 am (Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry – 100 Flinn Street) Saturday, April 4th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry – 100 Flinn Street)
Sunday, April 5th from Noon until 2:00 pm (Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry – 100 Flinn Street)
If you cannot drop off donations during one of these times the doors of the church are open every day from 6:00 am until 7:00 pm (except this Sunday 4/5). You can leave your donation on the Food Pantry tables set up in the Narthex and it will be delivered to the Food Pantry. Please do not leave donations outside of the Church – place all donations in the Narthex.
Below is a list of items that the food pantry cannot purchase through the food bank and / or the pantry is in short supply of this month. Donations of these items are especially needed and appreciated this coming weekend!
If you wish to make a monetary donation there are three easy ways to contribute:
You can leave your donation with one of our volunteers at the Food Pantry during our curbside collection times (see times above).
You can send a check to Holy Cross Payable to Holy Cross or the Food Pantry with Food Pantry written in the memo line (address – Holy Cross Catholic Church 2300 Main St. Batavia, IL 60510)
You can send a check directly to the Food Pantry payable to the Food Pantry with Holy Cross written in the memo line (address – Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry 100 Flinn St Batavia, IL 60510).
Finally, if you live in the greater Batavia area and want to contribute to the Food Pantry but cannot get to Holy Cross to drop off groceries or a monetary donation please contact Deacon Greg Norris by email at deacongreg@holycross-batavia.org.
Please provide your name and a phone number and Deacon Greg will contact you to arrange a time to pick up your donation.
Thank you in advance for your generous support of the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry! May God Bless you and keep you safe in these trying times!
