This coming weekend (August 1 & 2) is Holy Cross’s weekend to collect for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry.
Many families are without gainful employment and are finding their budgets stretched and their own shelves bare; the need for the Food Pantry is greater than ever. Please help keep the Food Pantry shelves stocked to minster to all the families in the Batavia area that must rely on the Food Pantry for support. The Food Pantry is their grocery store. Please be generous.
There are multiple ways you can support the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry this weekend.
If you wish to contribute groceries, volunteers will be present at Holy Cross to help collect your donations at the regular weekend Masses on August 1 & 2 (Saturday 4:15 pm, Sunday 7:30 am, 9:30 am and 11:30 am). Due to the coronavirus, we have a shortage of volunteers. If weather is cooperative and you are able, it would help us if you would drop off your donations at the Food Pantry Vanwhich will be parked in the Holy Cross parking lot. If you are not able, we will be happy to accept your donations at the Food Pantry tables in the Narthex before and after masses.
If you cannot drop off at one of the Masses, the doors of the church are open every day from 6:00 am until 7:00 pm. You can leave your donation on the Food Pantry tables set up in the Narthex.
Below is a list of items that the Food Pantry cannot purchase through the food bank and / or the pantry is in short supply of this month. Donations of these items are especially needed and appreciated this coming weekend!
If you wish to make a monetary donation there are three easy ways to contribute:
You can leave your donation with one of our volunteers before or after Mass (see times above).
You can send a check to Holy Cross Payable to Holy Cross or the Food Pantry with Food Pantry written in the memo line (address – Holy Cross Catholic Church 2300 Main St, Batavia, IL 60510)
You can send a check directly to the Food Pantry payable to the Food Pantry with Holy Cross written in the memo line (address – Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry 100 Flinn St, Batavia, IL 60510).
Thank you in advance for your generous support of the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry! May God Bless you and keep you safe in these trying times!
